Hippie Dickey Designs began in the most unexpected—and magical—way. When our youngest daughter married in our backyard, I draped 60 yards of gauze through the trees to create a dreamy forest canopy. After the celebration ended, I stood there looking at all that fabric and thought, What in the world do I do with this?

At the time, our town had a small Renaissance Faire, so I transformed that gauze into fairy wings and whimsical skirts for all ages. And just like that, a spark turned into a hobby… which quickly grew into a little shop… which has now become a full-blown creative adventure. That was ten years ago, and I’ve loved every moment since.

Somewhere along the way I told my husband I needed a She Shed. His response? “You have a whole house!”
And he wasn’t wrong—Hippie Dickey Designs has taken over bedrooms, the bathroom, the laundry room… and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Creating brings me joy. It brings smiles to people’s faces and floods of memories of times they tie-dyed as kids or with friends. Each piece feels like unwrapping a present—I never know exactly how the colors and folds will reveal themselves until that final rinse. It’s pure magic every time.
